„MY THEORY: the trouble is in the mind, for the body is only the house for the mind to dwell in. ... If your mind has been deceived by some invisible enemy into a belief, you have put it into the form of a disease, with or without your knowledge."Phineas Parkhurst Quimby, The Complete Writings, hrsg. Ervin Seale, Bd. 3, S. 208 (Marina del Rey 1988). Weitere: 'Disease being brought about through a false belief, it took another false belief to correct the first' und 'what eve you beleve you can creat' (The Quimby Manuscripts, hrsg. H. W. Dresser, 1921, Kap. 5); 'I would create mentally a lemon, and he would see it ... till he would be so sick that he would vomit' und 'the cure is not in the medicine, but in the confidence of the doctor' (ebd., Kap. 4)
